If you are emailing us with a parts question, we need ALL pertinent automobile (AC, Automatic, ETC.) and model (GTO, Caprice) information, or we may not be able to help you.

Due to the large number of requests for Paint code, and color research, we are now offering this as a fee based service.

Dennis is a certified automobile/fleet painter and affiliated with 2 major suppliers of paint, and has a fairly large collection of personal paint chips.

This service is available for GM, Ford, Chrysler, and other makes of classic vehicles.

Our price for researching a paint code is $10.00.  

This service will take your supplied paint code, make and model of vehicle, and give you a major brand paint number, which you can take to your local paint jobber.  This number will likely supply a cross reference to the brand of paint that you desire.  Sometimes the paint companies have a "close match" available in modern paint qualities.

We will do the following for you.

• Look in the Paint books which we feel appropriate for the paint code supplied.

• Supply you with a accurate description and modern paint number for the paint code(s) supplied.

• Email a PDF file with appropriate information when available.

• For a additional charge (which varies by color, type, and brand of paint desired) we can supply you with one pint of the desired color.

What we need from you.

• Description of the paint color.  
• The manufactures paint code. 
• Year, make and model of the vehicle.
• Application of the color, such as main body, wheel, interior, etc. (Interior paints are not documented very well.)
• Color can sometimes be arrived at by the exact "factory" name of a color.  Example is "Sierra Gold Metallic".
• Accuracy of the information which we will supply to you is only as good as the information which you give us.

Terms

• Price is $10.00 for each paint code which is successfully researched.

• If we are unsuccessful at researching your part, you will not be charged.

Notes

• Automobile Archives will do our best to give you accurate color information.  However full responsibility is the customers to verify accuracy of this information supplied.  Absolutely no responsibility for incorrect color information will be accepted by Automobile Archives, or it's officers.  Acceptance of this waiver is acknowledged by the customer when purchasing paint code assistance.

We will try to do this in a timely manner, but please be patient.  It may take over a week to get this information, depending on the location of the needed information, and our workload.
